Local Historyof Change Ringing on Handbells:

Quarter Peals

Between 1980 and 2016, apart from an upward blip around the millennium, change ringing on handbells in East Yorkshire was at a low ebb. The Hull Handbells Project started in 2016 and the results started to show in the statistics in 2017.

In 2018 a new record was set for the number of handbell quarter peals rung for the B&D.

On 5th September, 2019, the record set in 2018 was equalled, and exceeded in the following days.
