Level 5 - Change Ringer

Learn to apply coursing order and to ring more complex methods and greater numbers of bells

Practical Targets

Level 5 requires a ringer to have rung at least 7 quarter peals with at least one on more than 6 bells or of surprise..

Call a quarter peal of a second method

Quarter Peal Requirements

The quarter peals listed below are specific suggestions from the Hull Handbells Projects for progressive quarter peals that satisfy the requirements of LtR - Handbells. The LtR scheme does specify the absolute minimum at 7 quarter peals, but we would suggest a minimum of 10, and preferably significantly more, owing to the benefits that stem from ringing for extended lengths of time.

Level 5 Requirement:
Ring a QP of major or above
Call a quarter peal of a second method
Ring a quarter peal of Treble Bob

Level 5
Quarter Peal 8 Plain Bob Bob Major, 1-2
Quarter Peal 9 Kent TB Minor, 1-2
Quarter Peal 10 St Clement's College Bob Minor, 5-6, Conductor

Level 4 Requirement:
Ring a QP in a different pair
Call a quarter peal.

Level 4
Quarter Peal 6 Plain Bob Minor, 5-6, Conductor
Quarter Peal 7 Plain Bob Bob Major, 7-8

Level 3 Requirement:
Ring a QP in a different plain method, not a seconds place method
