The Yorkshire Surprise Major Project

Project Description

Primary Objective:
To conduct a handbell peal of Yorkshire Surprise Major for the B&D with a local band.

Project Diary
January 2019

1st January - 31st January, 2019

Ringing 1-2 to last 2 leads of the Plain Course. The coursing order structure of Yorkshire is quite clear, the internal place structure is hard to assimilate, possibly because it's 8 bells which is a step up from 6.

16 shots at Yorkshire.
10 courses of TB Major on 3-4 or 5-6 for treble watching practice.

Project Diary
December 2018

1st July - 31st December, 2018

No significant achievements in the period, little activity.

Project Diary
June 2018

1st June - 30th June, 2018

Friday 2nd June, Mental exercis of associating grid and Place Notation with Treble.

Saturday 3rd June, Thought I had cracked it, but no, fiasco.

Sunday 4th June Then the kitchen renovation happened and bellringing took a back seat. What did we do: gave Kent TB Minor a good thrashing. Rang quite a bit of Kent Major. Failed to get a grip of Yorkshire Place notation, but realised the clue was to treat treble and 2 to half lead, 5 and treble to the lead end as a thick treble, this makes the structure make sense.
