You have an old family photograph and you would really like to know when it was taken. This website has some information that might help you.
Approach
- Examine both sides of the photograph in detail, you may strike lucky and find a date!
- Look at the technology - metal - glass - paper, and generate a rough date, (See Photo medium).
- Refine the rough date by looking at transient features - format, fashion, transport, etc (See fashion dates)
